about the dudley hotel
Originally built in 1887 as an elegant home for a businessman, the Dudley Hotel has established itself for over three decades as a respected small hotel since opening its doors in 1978.
With an enviable reputation for a high standard of comfort and cleanliness the Dudley has recently been upgraded to a four star rating by the AA Tourism Board.
Comfortably catering up to 14 guests the Dudley’s six bedrooms have all been refurbished to a high standard and each comes with en-suite or private facilities as well as digital colour tv, wireless internet access, radio, hairdryer and complimentary beverage tray. In addition, extra pillows and bedding is available in all rooms.
With a spacious residential lounge, guests are invited to relax, socialise, or simply watch tv on our impressive 42 inch plasma screen as a release from the comforts of your room. Our welcoming dining room is host to your morning breakfast. So with a wide range of fruit juice and cereal coupled with a nourishing cooked breakfast using meats and eggs from local Devon farms, you’re sure not to leave feeling hungry! Breakfast is normally served from 7.45am - 8.30am weekdays and 8.45am – 9.30am weekends, although we pride ourselves on being very flexible with these times to suit your daily itinerary.
The hotel does have a wireless broadband router which allows a wireless signal to be picked up in all areas of the hotel including guest rooms to enjoy free and unlimited internet access.
Parking at the hotel is all on street as we don't unfortunately have a private car park. There are ample spaces around the Dudley and parking is never a major problem. There are no restrictions on the surrounding streets after 5pm until 10am. During the daytime, some of the streets have some parking restrictions due to our close proximity to the town centre, although there is always a free option within 50 yards of our front door. Alternatively we do have permits purchased from the council for £3.00 which enable you to park in the 'pay-and-display' spaces all day.
The Dudley Hotel operates a no smoking policy throughout in respect to all guests comfort. Smokers are most welcome but are asked to smoke outside the constraints of the hotel. Iron and ironing board and shoe cleaning facilities are all available on request.
Unfortunately, with the exception of guide dogs, the hotel cannot accommodate any pets.
